Ontop of high analysis phosphate fertilisers like TSP, MDCP has been used to treat contaminated land.

MDCP is not produced directly by mixing DCP and MCP. The first reaction step is not mixing DCP and MCP in process pond to react, which some people think so. The production process of MDCP Polifar adopts is to react phosphoric acid  with calcic compound to produce MCP slurry, then continue to add calcic compound to produce DCP and MCP slurry mixtures, finally get MDCP by spray drying the slurry mixtures.

Abbreviations:
– MDCP – Mono DiCalcium Phosphate Fertiliser
– DCP – DiCalcium Phosphate Fertiliser
– MCP – Mono Calcium Phosphate Fertiliser
– TSP – Triple Super Phosphate Fertiliser

Reaction principles for MDCP are below:
H3PO4+CaCO3+H2O = CaHPO4•2H2O+CO2↑
2H3PO4+CaCO3 = Ca(H2PO4)2•H2O+CO2

The material in the arrow towards calcium phosphate is calcic compound. From the production process you can see MDCP is the blend of DCP and MCP, but is just not produced in the first reaction step. The material %’s of DCP and MCP before the drying process remain the IP of the manufacturer.
