Testing the Free Moisture Content of Gypsum

Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate (CaSO4·2H2O), otherwise known as gypsum, is an inert compound containing ~20% by weight chemically combined water. When analysing gypsum for its moisture content, we are measuring the free moisture content not the combined water (2H20) content. For reference generally in our gypsum products we see the free moisture content fluctuate between 3-6%.

Pacific Fertiliser Bundaberg Gypsum

Pacific Fertiliser is looking to ship natural gypsum into the Port of Bundaberg via barges. A gypsum stockpile in Bundaberg, should enable PacFert to sell a lower cost gypsum into the area, but the main reason is to grow the sales area further north. Currently we sell our gypsum and minerals products as far as Rockhampton/Yeppon
