Our products have varying bulk densities. The figures below offer a density guide only, as sizing, loose bulk and bagged products greatly affect the bulk density of each product.

Before spreading it is best to check in field and on the phone before spreader calibration.

    • Mined Gypsum – 1.3 to 1.5 tonne per m3

    • Fine Gypsum – 1.0 to 1.1 tonne per m3

    • Recycled Gypsum (SAG) – 0.7 to 0.9 tonne per m3

    • Ag Lime  – 1.5 to 1.8 tonne per m3

    • Fine Ag Lime  – 1.0 to 1.1 tonne per m3

    • Hydrated Lime Loose – 0.5t/m3, to Bagged at 0.85 tonne per m3

    • Quick Lime  – 1.0 to 1.1 tonne per m3

    • Dolomite – 1.5 to 1.8 tonne per m3

    • Fine Dolomite – 1.0 to 1.2 tonne per m3

    • Bentonite – 1.2 to 1.6 tonne per m3

    • Phosphate Rock  – 1.6 to 2.0 tonne per m3

    • Urea Granular – 0.7 to 0.8 tonne per m3

    • MAP & DAP – 0.95 to 1.1 tonne per m3

    • Granular Gypsum – 1.0 to 1.2 tonne per m3

    • Granular Lime – 1.0 to 1.2 tonne per m3

    • Granular Dolomite – 1.0 to 1.2 tonne per m3

Note: When spreading it always best to check the product bulk density by dividing the first load weight via the area covered (GPS) with that 1st load, to calculate the actual kg/ha in the field.

  • Mobile Screen

Pacific Fertiliser has just purchased a mobile trommel screen, adding to the fleet which includes REGYP Recycling’s 7 mobile deck & trommel screeners.

The 798 Finlay trommel will be for hire and contract screening. The hire trommel screen is suitable for screening compost, soils, minerals and C&D waste.

The Finlay 798 double skin trommel enables various sizes of product to be screened in one pass (4 with a grizzly) and the trommel screen can handle up to 150 tonne per hr of soil. The large 8.5m3 feed hopper can be loaded by an excavator, loader or other conveying equipment. The trommel is powered by a 4 cylinder turbo Deutz and driven hydraulically. The outer fines screen is 5m long x dia 2m and the inner medium screen is 6m x dia 1.5m providing a large screen area with brushes for cleaning. The trommel screen can produce the following sizing fractions sub 6mm (other screen options mentioned below), +6 to 35mm, and with a grizzly attached +35 to 150mm. Other outer screen options 8mm and 18mm. The machine can be moved around using a prime mover with 5th wheel coupling.

  • SuperFlocc G110 Gypsum

    SuperFlocc G110 Gypsum

Pacific Fertiliser releases a solution grade gypsum products called, SuperFlocc Gypsum which is made from ultra fine mined gypsum. SuperFlocc G110 can be suitable for flocculation and aerial applications in industrial, agricultural and civil operations.

The ground gypsum can be mixed with water and applied via irrigation, spread aerially, or added to dams for flocculation (to reduce water turbidity). It has a mean particle size of <35um making it an ultra fine grade A gypsum.

Flocculation Dosage Rates using gypsum (calcium sulfate) are generally between 3 to 10 kg per 10,000 lts (10kL). Effectiveness is based on gypsum purity and particle size. The gypsum needs to be spread evenly across water surface. Generally takes 36 to 72 hours to flocculate and settle, this is dependent on water quality, gypsum quality and dosage rates.

The best thing to do is a jar or bucket test using slightly varying rates of gypsum on the actual water to be treated, leaving them over night to find the most efficient dosage rate.

Pacific Fertiliser can also supply solution grade ag lime and soft rock phosphate.

  • Aerial Grade Gypsum

    Aerial Grade Gypsum

Pacific Fertiliser’s aerial grade gypsum is a granular 2 to 6 mm product that will be available in 2014.

The product provides minimal dust and very flowable properties, suitable for aerial applications.

The phosphorous is then released into the soil over a few years providing good long term returns with minimal applications when applied correctly.

Also available is the 2-4mm prilled gypsum product which provides minimal dust and very flowable properties, suitable for both aerial or air seeder applications.

PacFert can also blend theses products with prilled gypsum and/or prilled lime for a one pass application.
